These two apartments are situated on the coast at Pebble Beach in Tenerife, Canary Islands and are surrounded by two golf courses. Golf Del Sur consists of three nine hole courses and Amarilla Golf and Country Club boasts an 18 hole championship course.

For those who simply seek rest and tranquillity, there is ample opportunity for the most commendable pursuit of sitting on the patio, hardly seeing a soul and keeping an eye out for dolphins in the open sea.

CHOICE OF LUXURY APARTMENTS TO RENT

The choice of 2 apartments offer accommodation for 2 or 4 people.

'Ocean View' apartment has a twin bedroom (sleeps 2)
'Marina View' apartment has 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. There is also a bed settee for occasional use. (sleeps 4)

The living areas are equipped with a TV and DVD, and open out onto the balcony. Cable TV provides English programmes, CNN news, Spanish programmes and films.

Each apartment has a well equipped kitchen, and in addition to the dining area there is seating on the balcony.

Golf at Golf Del Sur and Amarilla, Tenerife

Golf Del Sur consists of three nine hole courses, all of which present their own challenge. The black volcanic sand bunkers have proved a handicap to some top ranking professionals especially when playing in tournaments like the 'Tenerife Open'. Facilities include club and trolley rental, buggy hire, putting green, driving range, professional shop and Club House facilities. Discount is given on green fees at Golf Del Sur if you have a signed handicap certificate from a recognised Golf Club in the UK of which you are a member. Minimum handicap 28 for men and 36 for ladies. The certificate must be produced at the time of booking and paying your green fees.

Amarilla Golf and Country Club boasts an 18 hole championship course, along with coaching facilities, driving range, putting green, pitch and put the apartments are situated close to the 15th hole.

Activities

Tennis

There are two modest Tennis Club in Costa del Silencio a small coastal visit nearby and very pucker (and largely unused) new tennis courts in several hotels nearby which can be booked on as required basis.

Guests staying at our apartments are very welcome at this club. Social tennis is available three afternoons a week, or coaching can be arranged if preferred.

Sailing, windsurfing and Diving

There is a water sports club five minutes walk from the apartment situated in the marina which is currently being created. There are catamarans, wind surfers, sail boards, motor scooters or canoes available for hire, or courses of instruction can be arranged. There is also a small bar/restaurant alongside with full shower and changing facilities.

The PADI recognised diving school have their own boats and so try dives, hidden water courses, advanced or dive master courses can all be arranged through this school. Also, recreational dives are available to see such sights as the yellow mountain or the giant rays nearby. An absolutely unforgettable experience and well worth doing.

Walking

There is a coastal path directly in front of the apartment as well as numerous other walks. For going further afield there is the Teide National Park for public picnics, walking etc or for the more adventurous the numerous mountain trails up in the hills five miles away.

Excursions

The volcanic mountain range of Teide, the second highest mountain in Europe, is a superb example of volcanic crater. Mountain bikes can be hired to allow for a more active engagement with this natural wonder.

Restaurants

There are several little restaurants within walking distance of the apartment, ranging from the basic cafe style through to Italian and Chinese. Local cuisine, including superb buffets are available at the Hotel, which also offers a varied European menu in the very comfortable surroundings of the Golf Club. For the more athletic, a walk of approximately 45 minutes along the coastal path will bring you to the small fishing village of Los Abrigos, and a reward of the most renowned seafood restaurant on the island. Again, prices are very reasonable and the fish is superb.

Food shopping

There is an extremely good delicatessen and general store five minutes walk from the apartment, located underneath the bridge near Pebble Beach Reception. The stock includes an ample supply of fresh bread, wine, champagne, dry food, dairy products, fruit and vegetables. The delicatessen counter has various home made salads, coleslaw, kebabs with some excellent quality fillet steak, chicken pieces and even whole roast chickens.

If one wishes to do more serious shopping there are supermarkets at the top of the road near the roundabout. The Mercadona has vast selections of all of the above and more, and of particular note is their long fish counter with unbelievable supplies of prawns of various sizes and the very excellent sea bream called Dorado which when grilled with butter is truly delicious.

If you prefer not to cook, an excellent breakfast to start the day can be obtained from the Amarilla Golf Club House where their pool and tennis courts can also be used. There is a small informal but very pleasant bar at the Marina where they also serve a variety of light meals at lunch time or before 5 o'clock in the evening.

How to get here

Many of the UK airports have flights to Tenerife South (TRS). The flight time is four hours and the apartment is a five minutes taxi ride from the airport. We can arrange for a hire car to be available to meet you (or for collection) at the airport or to be delivered to your apartment once you have settled in (see more information on car hire below).

There is a folder in the apartment giving a local map and other information and guide notes that hopefully make your stay more enjoyable.

Car Hire

Visitors very often want to spend a day or two looking around the area, so prefer to have a hire car delivered to their apartment for the latter part of the week. The car can then be taken to the airport and left there on their return to the UK.

Car hire can be booked from the UK and details of a company that provides a very good and competitive service will be provided when you enquire. For example. a Citroen Saxo should cost in the region of Ł12 to Ł14 a day inclusive of all insurance, taxes etc and petrol is a fraction of the UK price.

Prices

The price of the 1 bedroom apartment is Ł185 per week.

The 2 bedroomed apartment is priced at Ł255 per week for for up to 4 people. Therefore, smaller parties are not penalised for renting this apartment that can sleep 4.

Linen, bath and hand towels are supplied (you need to bring beach towels).

There is very little sand at all on Tenerife: it is a volcanic island and is mostly volcanic ash or cinders along the coastal path with outcrops of rocks or pebbles going down to the sea (for instance Pebble Beach . . . ). Having said that many people sunbathe on the rocks and children often play on the pebbles though sandy it is not -- sand has to be imported from the Sarah desert to make beaches on Tenerife!! Los Gigantes is one of those places . . .
