The area...The Gothic Quarter of Barcelona follows the city's coastline, and among its delights is the El Borne district. Less crowded and more airy than its neighbouring areas, near to the beach and centred around " The Peoples Church" - Santa Maria del Mar, it is the new "trendy" place to be. Think London's Notting Hill or Soho in NYC.

This apartment is just around the corner from Montcada St., home of the Picasso Museum, the Textile Museum and dozens of other private galleries. The whole area is full of lovely restaurants and bars, boutiques, specialist food shops and atmospheric terraces.
Indeed, on the ground floor of the apartment building is the gorgeous Casa Gispert- a spice and nut shop, whose traditional roasting ovens fill the street with the scents of nutmeg, cinnamon and hazelnut.

The beach is only 10 mins walk away - why not hire a sailing boat for the day, or just relax on the boardwalk?
Alternatively, a 15 min walk will take you to the lively Las Ramblas boulevard, Plaza Real or the stunning medieval Cathedral.

There are 2 metro stops nearby and plenty of bus stops.

The apartment... On the 1st floor, this 100m2 stylish apartment has been recently renovated and is completely equipped.

Its master bedroom contains a king-size bed, an amazing wooden closet, and balconies looking directly on to the Basilica Santa Maria del Mar. During the evening Mass, the light through the church's stained glass glows into this room - a very special atmosphere.
There is a second smaller bedroom containing fun bunk beds.

The living/dining room is spacious and finished in an informal contemporary style with warm colours and natural textures.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would expect including antique floor tiles and a breakfast bar.
The bathroom is again beautifully tiled, with double marble basins and a full size bath and shower. There is a separate utility room complete with washing machine and dryer.

In all the rooms the floors are parquet, the woodwork polished and the roof beams exposed. It really is a very stylish and yet cosy home.

Our comment..." This apartment is perfect for a couple with 2 children or 2 sets of friends.
A perfect base from which to discover the city - it's also great to come home to. You will find it hard to leave !!!
