Walk into the ground floor. Draft by Isidre Vilaseca from the patio |
The patio, garden, living/dining room and kitchen, creates a wide, comfortable and peaceful atmosphere. I asked the artist Isidre Vilaseca to come and see it.. I am happy he enjoyed it and decided to paint two masterpieces in the house, today hanging on the walls of my residence in Barcelona. See below.

Living room |
Isidre Vilaseca, born in Barcelona in 1945, lives in Castell d'Aro, not far from Sant Feliu. I used to visit him & his wife at the time he came home to work on the two paintings shown above. (Funny, they hosted 22 cats at that time) I met them again recently. If you are interested in meeting him and seeing his paintings in Castell d'Aro, they would welcome your visit. From time to time, he shows his work in Sant Feliu & surrounding towns. Maybe, if you are lucky, 100 m left in our street, Joan Maragall, in Carmen Tache's Gallery.

The passage of time
We love the signs of the passage of time in the house, which I like to contemplate once in a while, during the periods we live at Ca La Tia Fina.

The last time we painted the walls of the patio I decided to keep the vault as it was. The fine work drawn by the passage of time, was fixed by a good friend and great painter: Manel Bea. He encouraged the idea. Quite old and seriously ill, he came to the house and did the resin coating himself, helped by my niece, Yolanda. He went forever a few months later. Many thanks, Manel, Many thanks, Yolanda. Two of Yolanda's iron sculptures can be found in the garden. |
| The old vault |
The old wall
Partially shown in Isidre's painting ( Patio and garden ), it brings to my mind younger, happy days in the house ( I am 61 ), with deep regrets: Sooner or later I will have to rebuild it and loose it forever. Pity! (Maybe you won't see it).

Sorry ! I forgot to introduce La Tia Fina
"La Tia Fina" means Aunt Josephine. Josephine Perdrieux, my father's aunt. The first Perdrieux who came from France to make his home in Sant Feliu, introduced the cork for use in bottling wine in the area.

Meet her in the living/dining room in three photos. With my grandmother and a sister (end 19th century). With my daughter Eugenia, around 1970. With my father, around 1960. ( Hi Dad !!!. )
This room, like most in the house, hosts old family furniture. We feel comfortable here. Some guests seldom use it. They prefer to live on the patio and in the garden. Sometimes, we do too, in spring, summer and early fall.
The end of your arrival day
You know a lot about the house now. It's time to come down and, for us, just to wish you a great holiday, and disappear. You will perhaps discuss room distribution, take luggage up, rush for emergency shopping, have a first glance at the town, and maybe try a short walk to the seaside and meet the quiet rhythm and sound of my dear evening Mediterranean waves.
Have a pleasant dinner on the patio, but, to start, I suggest opening the fridge and trying a delicious chilly Chardonnay. It will help you plan the coming days!
On your arrival, Lore, my wife, and I, will have been pleased to welcome you, show the house, some shopping places nearby, the way to the beach and town centre, a few tips, and a lot of written & printed information about Sant Feliu and surroundings. Writing the draft for this page has been nice for me. I got some time to think about the house, the former & future generations, and myself. I feel happy. The house, your house, is shown as it is.
Best Regards
Lore & Pedro

Josep Alberti was a "genuine genius". Painter, poet, singer, good fellow and friend. Sant Feliu's Townhall will open a museum in his old house, which he left to the town together with a significant collection of his best paintings. | |
